“As a young boy, scouting gave me a confidence and camaraderie that is hard to find in modern life.”
“A week of camp life is worth six months of theoretical teaching in the meeting room.”
Welcome to the 18th Purley Scouts
Based in Sanderstead, Purley, we are a vibrant and friendly group part of the larger Croydon District. We are blessed with one of the best Scout HQ facilities in the area, with a great hall and large grounds.
We are also lucky enough to have an on-site traverse-climbing wall, alongside being well equipped with canoes, tents, and a minibus.
As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, we give our young people the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future.
We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.
Ready to join?
Canoeing, climbing, surfing, making, sailing, helping, playing, volunteering, abseiling, fundraising, painting, acting...whatever you like doing, Scouts make it happen.
We provide young people with the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.
